Fans in North Texas will have a brand-new way to follow the Dallas Stars in 2025-26, as a fresh local television deal was announced that could change how many households experience hockey this season. The Stars confirmed that FOX 4 (KDFW-TV) has partnered with the team to broadcast 17 games, a major addition to the existing Victory+ streaming coverage that has become standard in recent years.
For years, local hockey coverage has leaned heavily on streaming platforms, but this move ensures that fans who still prefer traditional TV will not be left behind. As reported by The Dallas Morning News, nine of the games will air directly on FOX 4, while the other eight will appear on KDFI More 27.
The deal provides more visibility for the Stars at a time when excitement around the roster is at its peak. Jason Robertson, Roope Hintz, and Miro Heiskanen lead a team built for another deep playoff run, and giving more fans access to their journey could help boost community engagement throughout the season.
FOX 4 expressed its excitement in a message posted on X, writing,
"We're lacing up our skates for hockey season! FOX 4 is thrilled to be the official broadcast partner for the Dallas Stars!"
While streaming is here to stay, the comfort of turning on the TV and catching a big divisional matchup remains powerful for fans of all ages. The Stars now have the chance to reach those who may not have signed up for digital packages but still want to feel part of the action.
As one fan told me recently,
"It's nice to finally know my dad can just turn on the TV and watch Robertson score without needing to log into an app."
Personally, I think this is a brilliant move for Dallas. Adding free local TV coverage makes the Stars more accessible than ever, and that can only help grow the sport in Texas.
