Dallas Stars prospects just got completely disrespected in new rankings

The Dallas Stars were left without a single name in EliteProspects' Top 100 rankings, a shocking snub that ignored rising talents like Emil Hemming and Cameron Schmidt despite standout seasons.

The Dallas Stars have built one of the NHL's most consistent playoff teams, but when it comes to evaluating their pipeline, analysts aren't showing the same respect.

In the latest EliteProspects Top 100 NHL-affiliated prospects list for 2025-26, not a single Dallas player was included. For a franchise that continues to draft and develop talent, the omission feels like an outright dismissal of their system.

This time last year, defenseman Lian Bichsel earned recognition at No. 68 before graduating into the NHL, where he played 38 games for Dallas and collected nine points.

His journey showed exactly how the pipeline is supposed to work. Yet somehow, the next wave of talent didn't earn a spot.

Dallas Stars prospects Emil Hemming and Cameron Schmidt headline the snubs

The most glaring absence is Emil Hemming, Dallas's 2024 first-round pick. Hemming scored 48 points in 60 OHL games with the Barrie Colts before erupting for 15 points in 16 playoff games.

Despite that résumé, EliteProspects left him out completely. As Yahoo Sports pointed out, Hemming is expected to take another step forward with Barrie this season, making his exclusion even harder to justify.

Another surprise is Cameron Schmidt. Drafted 94th overall this summer, Schmidt racked up 40 goals and 38 assists in the WHL. He was ranked 22nd by EliteProspects earlier in the year and 20th by The Hockey News' Tony Ferrari, yet was bumped down to "honorable mention" in the final release.

Fans weren't shy about voicing frustration, with one writing:

"How can you ignore a 40-goal scorer?" and another adding, "The Stars always get overlooked, it's ridiculous."

For a team that has produced stars like Jason Robertson, Wyatt Johnston, and Jason Robertson, this list feels less like analysis and more like an insult.

Personally, I think being overlooked will only push Hemming and Schmidt to prove everyone wrong.
