Steve Reich began representing professional athletes way back in 1987, and after a long time with 02K Sports Management, he has tragically passed away, leaving behind an immense legacy in the sporting world.

The NHL has been rocked by way too many tragedies in recent times, and on Monday, it was unfortunately announced that long-time player agent and one of the most respected names in hockey behind the scenes Steve Reich had tragically passed away at the age of 64.

Starting his journey as an agent way back in 1987, Reich has managed some of the biggest names in hockey including Mario Lemieux, Ron Francis, Luc Robataille and Chris Chelios, as well as Head Coach Scotty Bowman, becoming one of the most respect agents in the entire league.

It wasn't just hockey however, as he also managed the likes of Ken Griffey Jr. and Sammy Sosa, all before joining 02K Sports Management to become one of the biggest names in the sporting world.

It was Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman that first paid tribute to him on social media, stating that he'll miss the great conversations with Reich, who seemed to truly care about every single person he touched with his job.

However, it wasn't just the sporting world where he was revered, as Steve leaves behind an amazing family as well as the sports family he created at 02K Sports Management, and he will be missed.

We take this time to send our condolences to the family, friends and clients of Reich, as well as anyone he touched in a positive manner throughout his lengthy stint as an agent in the sporting world.

Rest in Peace, Steve Reich.
