ECHL: Brennan Kapcheck Signs With Trenton Ironhawks

The Mount Prospect, Illinois, native began his pro career in the Toronto Maple Leafs organization. In 115 games with the Newfoundland Growlers (ECHL), he had seven goals and 52 assists for 59 points. He would add a goal and 13 assists for 14 points in 31 Kelly Cup Playoff games with Newfoundland. At the AHL level, he had two assists in eight games with the Toronto Marlies. Kapcheck also played ten games in Slovakia during the 2023-24 season, where he had an assist over the course of 10 games with HKM Zvolen.

Junior and NCAA Career

Prior to going pro, Kapcheck spent two years in the NAHL with the Aston Rebels. In 105 games with the Rebels, he had 20 goals and 42 assists for 62 points. He would add a goal and eight assists for nine points in 20 playoff games. In 2017, he was named the NAHL (East) Defenseman of the Year and was named to the NAHL (East) All-Star Team and the NAHL First All-Star Team. Kapcheck then headed to the NCAA, where he spent his entire collegiate career at American International College, posting 14 goals and 80 assists for 94 points in 128 games. During his four years with the Yellow Jackets, he would be named a semifinalist for the Walter Brown Award Twice. In 2021, he would be named the AHA Player of the Year and Best Defenseman, while also winning an AHA Championship.
