ECHL: Christian Felton Heads Overseas

Cincinnati Cyclones defenseman Christian Felton is heading overseas to Sweden to join Kalmar HC (HA) after spending his first two seasons in North America. Felton, 26, began last season with the Utah Grizzlies, where he had three goals and six assists for nine points in 30 games before being traded to the Cyclones. In five games with Cincinnati, he had two assists. He also played in 14 AHL games last year with the Abbotsford Canucks. Felton becomes the seventh member of the Cyclones to take the overseas route since the 2025-26 season ended.

Over the course of his two years in North America, the Medina, Ohio, native has spent time in both the AHL and ECHL. During his time in the ECHL, he’s put up three goals and nine assists for 12 points in 42 games. He’s played in 27 games at the AHL level, all coming as a member of the Abbotsford Canucks.

Junior and NCAA Career

Before going pro, Felton began his career at the junior level, where he played eight games with the Madison Capitols (USHL) during the 2018-19 season. He spent the following season with the Vernon Vipers, where he had five goals and 10 assists for 15 points in 50 games, while adding an assist in five games during the 2020 BCHL Playoffs. Felton then headed to the NCAA, spending his first year of eligibility at Bentley University, where he played in 13 games before transferring to Merrimack. Over the course of three seasons with the Warriors, he put up seven goals and 10 assists for 17 points in 98 games. He was named to the Hockey East All-Tournament Team in 2023.
