Indy Fuel defenseman Jérémie Bucheler is heading overseas to Switzerland to join Genève-Servette HC (NL) after spending his first three seasons in North America. Bucheler, 26, had a goal and two assists for three points in 15 games last season with the Indy Fuel. He becomes the first member of the Fuel to take the overseas route since the 2025-26 season ended.
The Montreal, Quebec, native spent his first two seasons in the San Jose Sharks organization, seeing time with the Wichita Thunder and San Jose Barracuda. During his time with the Thunder, he put up six goals and 26 assists for 32 points in 56 games. In 19 games in the AHL with the Barracuda, he had two assists. Prior to going pro, Bucheler spent five seasons at the NCAA level. He would spend his first four years of eligibility at Northeastern, where he had four goals and 24 assists for 28 points in 110 games. Bucheler spent his final year of eligibility at the University of Vermont, where he had six goals and 12 assists for 18 points in 33 games.
Before playing at the NCAA level, Bucheler played two seasons of junior hockey. In 51 games with the Chicago Steel (USHL), he put up a goal and five assists for six points. He would add one goal in four playoff games. In his second and final year of junior hockey, he had eight goals and 37 assists for 45 points in 54 games with the Victoria Grizzlies (BCHL). He would add a goal and six assists for seven points in 12 playoff games.
