The Kalamazoo Wings have announced that they’ve re-signed forward Spencer Kennedy and signed forward Dylan Wendt for the 2026-27 season. Kalamazoo now has nine forwards and four defensemen signed to ECHL deals for the 2026-27 season.

Wendt, 25, joins the K-Wings after spending his first three seasons with the New Jersey Devils organization. At the ECHL level, he’s put up 18 goals and 31 assists for 49 points in 73 games with the Adirondack Thunder. He had one assist in six games during the 2026 Kelly Cup Playoffs. During his time in the AHL with the Utica Comets, he had two goals and six assists for eight points in 36 games. Wendt should be a big piece of the K-Wings top six next season and should see time on the power play.
Prior to going pro, he spent three seasons in the USHL with the Green Bay Gamblers and Muskegon Lumberjacks. In 155 USHL games, he had 28 goals and 69 assists for 97 points, while adding four assists in four games during the 2021 playoffs. Wendt also served as the captain of the Lumberjacks during his time there. The Grand Haven, Michigan, native would then head to the NCAA, where he spent three years at the University of Western Michigan. Over the course of 111 games with the Broncos, he had 33 goals and 36 assists for 69 points.
Kennedy, 25, had a goal and five assists for six points, along with 104 PIMs in 26 games last season with the K-Wings. Over the course of his three seasons in the ECHL, he’s put up three goals and seven assists for 10 points, along with 331 PIMs in 75 games with four different teams. He’s also played in 41 games in the SPHL, where he’s put up five goals and three assists for eight points al while playing for three different teams. Heading into next season, Kennedy will continue to bring a physical element to the K-Wings bottom six and a willingness to fight.
