The ECHL Department of Player Safety has suspended Kansas City Mavericks defenseman Marcus Crawford three games and fined him an undisclosed amount for his actions in Saturday’s game vs Tahoe Knight Monsters. At the 9:32 mark of the first period, Crawford would deliver an elbow to the head of Sloan Stanick. Crawford would be assessed a major for elbowing, along with a game misconduct on the play. In 70 games this season, Crawford had 14 goals and 72 assists for 86 points along with 125 PIMs. He had two assists in Game 1 as the Mavericks won 4-2 in the opening game of the Kelly Cup Playoffs.

This is a huge loss for the Mavericks, as Crawford has been a massive part of the team and was named the league MVP. Kansas City will now be without Marcus Crawford and Luke Loheit for Game 3.
