The Atlanta Gladiators added size and experience down the middle with the signing of forward Max Grondin.
Grondin, 25, joins Atlanta after five seasons with the Ottawa Gee-Gees. The 6-foot-4, 205-pound center arrives following the most productive season of his collegiate career.
During the 2025–26 season, just prior to signing with Atlanta, Grondin recorded 12 goals and 18 assists for 30 points in 28 games. He set career highs in assists and total points while serving as a key offensive contributor for Ottawa. Across his collegiate career, the Hearst, Ontario native recorded 41 goals and 36 assists for 77 points in 102 games. He also helped the Gee-Gees capture the 2025 University Cup championship.
The 2025–26 season also marked Grondin’s strongest offensive campaign. He produced points consistently throughout the schedule and delivered several multi-point performances, including a four-point night on Nov. 29 against the Carleton Ravens when he scored two goals and added two assists.
Grondin also contributed on special teams, scoring power-play goals against the Ontario Tech Ridgebacks and the Queen’s Gaels. His physical style remained a steady part of his game as well, logging several high-penalty contests while maintaining a strong presence in the middle of the ice.
The season also highlighted clear growth compared with his 2023–24 campaign at Ottawa, when he recorded 15 goals and six assists for 21 points in 28 games. Two seasons later, Grondin stepped into a more complete offensive role. His assist total tripled while his overall production climbed to a career-high 30 points.
Before beginning his collegiate career, Grondin spent four seasons in the Ontario Hockey League with the Saginaw Spirit and the Peterborough Petes. Across 256 career games in the OHL, he recorded 42 goals and 47 assists for 89 points. His most productive junior season came in 2019–20 with Peterborough, when he posted 33 points in 60 games while continuing to develop his physical, two-way style of play.
Grondin’s size, reach, and experience give Atlanta another option down the middle as the Gladiators shape their forward group for the final stretch of the regular season.
