The Islanders were previously affiliated with Trenton from 1999 to 2002 and again during the 2005-26 season. Ironhawks Announce Islanders As NHL Affiliate

The Ironhawks have an NHL affiliate just under two hours away. Looking ahead to next season, there are a handful of players on deals with the Islanders who could see time in Worcester. Last season, Gleb Veremyev, Jesse Pulkkinen, and Calle Odelius all spent time with the Railers and could see action with the Ironhawks next season.

“Trenton has a great organization, led by Bob Ohrablo, and has set a platform for our prospects to develop both on and off the ice.  We’ve had several members of the current and past Islanders teams play games in the ECHL and look forward to continuing that trend in Trenton.”

The Oak View Group now manages all three of the Islander’s Affiliates as the manages UBS Arena and TD Coliseum, which will house the Islanders newly relocated AHL team in Hamilton, Ontario.

Worcester Railers In Need of a New NHL Affiliate

The Worcester Railers will enter a new era, as they’ve been the ECHL affiliate of the New York Islanders since the 2017-18 season, their inaugural season. Worcester’s only appearance in the Kelly Cup Playoffs came during their inaugural season. In 2024 and 2025, they were eliminated on the last day of the regular season. The team announced on Twitter that more information about their affiliate for next season will be shared at a later date.
