ECHL: Trois-Rivières Lions Sign Robert Orr

The Trois-Rivières Lions have announced that they’ve signed forward Robert Orr for the 2026-27 season. Orr, 22, spent the last two years in USports at the University of Prince Edward Island, where he had 23 goals and 22 assists for 45 points in 55 games with the Panthers. He led the Panthers in goals (17) and points (31) last season. In seven playoff games with the Panthers, he had three assists. If Orr’s numbers from the QMJHL can transfer to the ECHL, he should be a solid piece in the Lions lineup next season. Trois-Rivières now has 12 forwards, four defensemen, and a goaltender signed for the 2026-27 season.

The Montreal, Quebec, native was drafted by the Carolina Hurricanes in the fifth round of the 2021 NHL Draft. Orr spent his junior career in the QMJHL, where he put up 78 goals and 121 assists for 199 points in 233 games. He would add four goals and seven assists for 11 points in 13 QMJHL playoff games. During his rookie season with the Halifax Mooseheads, he put up 15 goals and 17 assists for 23 points in 44 games and led all rookies in points. He also led the Acadie-Bathurst Titans in points (82) during his last season in the QMJHL.
