The Utica Comets have announced that they’ve assigned goaltender Jeremy Brodeur to the Adirondack Thunder. Brodeur, 28, began the season in Utica making one start, stopping 32 of 35 shots vs Toronto Marlies. He signed a one-year, one-way deal with Utica over the Summer . This is part of the domino effect after the Devils sent Nico Daws down to Utica.

The Essex Falls, NJ, native is entering his third season with the Thunder, where he’s posted a 29-20-4 record with a 2.70 GAA, .913 SV%, and six shutouts in 56 games. Brodeur went 3-1 with a 2.47 GAA and .917SV% in six games during the 2024 Kelly Cup Playoffs. During his time in the AHL with the Comets, he’s 4-2 with a 2.31 GAAB and .920SV% in seven games, all four of his wins with Utica came last season.
With Brodeur coming back to Adirondack, the Thunder get their tandem of Tyler Brennan and Jeremy Brodeur back. This is also a huge boost for Adirondack between the pipes. Brennan has played decently in the absence of Brodeur and has started all three games for Adirondack this season, including back-to-back starts last weekend against the Trois-Rivières Lions. The Thunder have a home-and-home this weekend with the Maine Mariners, and I would almost guarantee that Brodeur will get the nod in one of those two games. I would expect Adirondack to move goaltender Henry Welsh to reserve with Brodeur coming back down. Adirondack should have a couple moves coming before Friday Night’s game.
