The Philadelphia Flyers are locking up their goaltending for the next couple of years.
On Tuesday, the Philadelphia Flyers announced that the team has signed goaltender Dan Vladar to a two-year contract. The deal will carry a $3.35 million AAV through the 2026-27 season.

Vladar has spent the past four seasons with the Calgary Flames, serving as a backup to Jacob Markstrom for three years, before sitting back as the No. 2 behind star rookie Dustin Wolf this past season.
In 2024-25, the Czech backstop appeared in the most games of his young career, playing in 30 games, posting a record of 12-11-6. He registered a 2.80 goals-against average, a .898 save percentage and two shutouts. Unfortunately, Vladar and Wolf’s efforts weren’t enough to get the Flames to the Stanley Cup Playoffs for the first time in three years.
Vladar has been inconsistent at times in his career, but a new home might give him a fresh start, despite the longstanding history of how tough it can be for a goaltender in Philadelphia.
With the 27-year-old on the books, the Flyers have three goaltenders through next season. Ivan Fedotov and Samuel Ersson are both signed through next season. Ersson has been the team’s starter for much of the past two years, while Fedotov had some struggles last year in his first season with the Flyers.
In 105 NHL appearances across five seasons, Vladar has a career record of 49-34-16, with a 3.00 GAA, a .895 SV% and four shutouts. He was originally drafted by the Boston Bruins in the third round, 75th overall, of the 2015 NHL Draft. Vladar was traded to the Flames for a third-round pick in July 2021.
According to PuckPedia, the Flyers are projected to have just under $5.5 million in cap space for the 2025-26 season.
