Hockey Royalty: Why I am Thankful

Today isn’t a day I bring you an Ontario Reign recap or LA Kings prospect updates. It’s a day to be thankful. For the past 3.5 seasons, I have been lucky enough to be given a platform to cover the Reign and Kings prospects here at Hockey Royalty.

It’s not something I take for granted because I know it can be taken away or lost at any second.

I know I wouldn’t have this amazing opportunity if it weren’t for Ryan Sikes, Russell Morgan, and Joe Patarino for bringing me on board. They took a chance on a 23-year-old, at the time, with no experience. I am thankful for this opportunity every single day.

Second, I am thankful for Jared Shafran and Cam McGuire for providing me a season credential pass to provide in-game analysis, player and coach interviews, and exclusive interviews for the Reign. I am always thankful for that.

Next, I am thankful for the opportunity Zach Dooley of the Kings has given me to occasionally contribute articles about Kings prospects on LA Kings Insider (LAKI) recently. Never in my wildest dreams did I think that opportunity would present itself, but I’m grateful to have had the chance, because such opportunities are rare.

I am also thankful for my dad, my family, and my friends for the support that they have always given me over the years, especially the last four years. It means a lot to me. My dad has been by my side every day, always supporting me in reaching my goals as long as I can remember.

Lastly, there is one more person I am very thankful for. This person has been a mother to me for the last three years, and her support, along with reading every article I write, means the world to me. When I have days of doubt, she is always supportive and encourages me to keep reaching my goals. It means a lot to me, and I am forever thankful to have her in my life and for her support.
