Is Canadiens prospect Owen Beck up with the NHL club for good?

For those who couldn't watch the game between the Montreal Canadiens and the San Jose Sharks, here's a good one.

One of the best forwards for the Habs Tuesday night, given the circumstances, was none other than young Owen Beck.

Knowing that the Canadiens have an obvious need at center, especially since Kirby Dach would possibly be much more effective on the wing, and seeing that Martin St-Louis' squad seems to need a fresh spark, some sources are already speculating.

Owen Beck with the Montreal Canadiens for good?

You read that right.

Much like Jakub Dobes a few weeks ago, there's already speculation about whether Beck has played his last game with the Laval Rocket.

He was that impressive last night!

In any case, the question remains:

He definitely deserves to play Wednesday against the Los Angeles Kings, and if he repeats his performance, don't be surprised if he secures a permanent role in Montreal for the rest of the season.

If Jake Evans is traded or if Christian Dvorak is moved, it will only strengthen this possibility.

Beck played nearly 10 minutes Tuesday night, which is almost three times what Michael Pezzetta usually gets when he's in the lineup.

His impact was immediate.

Owen Beck, 20 years old, 6 feet tall, and 199 pounds, was the Canadiens' 33rd overall pick in 2022 (2nd round).

He has recorded 27 points in 41 games this season with the Laval Rocket (11 goals), along with 26 penalty minutes and a +11 rating.
