The Kings have changed the plan for one of their prospects. Per the AHL’s transactions log, the team has reassigned forward Vojtech Cihar from AHL Ontario to WHL Kelowna.
The 19-year-old was a second-round pick by Los Angeles back in 2025, going 59th overall. He was a regular in the Czech Extraliga in his draft year, picking up nine points in 43 games with Karlovy Vary, while showcasing his offensive upside when playing internationally at the World Under-18s and the World Juniors.
Cihar started last season in the Extraliga, notching eight points in 27 games to start the season before making the move to North America and Kelowna back in December. After being the fourth-best scorer at the World Juniors, he became a point-per-game player for the Rockets the rest of the way, tallying 12 goals and 19 assists in 31 games along with 13 points in nine playoff contests, to help them reach the Memorial Cup.
That performance, coupled with his time in the pros back home, was enough for the Kings to give Cihar a shot with Ontario. Having been drafted out of Czechia, he wasn’t subject to the NHL-CHL transfer agreement, which allowed him to join the Reign. However, he struggled out of the gate, picking up just one assist in eight games. Rather than continue to have him struggle in a limited role, he’ll get a chance to play a much bigger role back in junior and at the World Juniors starting next month.
