Kyle Davidson sparks emotion from team meeting following Blackhawks' Winter Classic loss

Connor Bedard would come away from the game with an assist, with a -1 and two giveaways on 26 shifts played. While not terrible, it wasn't an effort that could close the gap that the Blues widened.

The Blackhawks had the perfect setting for a come-from-behind victory, as yet again we see them succumb to a Blues team that is arguably punching above their weight.

After Davidson's conversation with the team, players spoke out and were clearly emotional:

As Jim Montgomery's team is in a re-tool and despite the addition of Cam Fowler isn't the same 2019 Cup-winning squad, but they're high-flying and mean.

Davidson spent nearly $30 million in free agency to improve the squad and they have yet to deliver this season.

It's hard to be angry at Davidson when he himself is chiding the team for failing to hold themselves to a winning standard ... something Nick Foligno, Seth Jones and other leaders on the team need to address.

The Blackhawks only had four players score a point that night, as Tyler Bertuzzi, Connor Bedard, Taylor Hall and Ryan Donato put up a point apiece.

Not good enough.

The team is now 12-24-2 and eighth in the Central Division after losing to their rivals.
