LA Kings Fans Already Furious With New GM Ken Holland After Reckless Free Agency Signing

LA Kings GM Ken Holland has made several questionable signings in free agency so far, and now fans have taken to social media to absolutely blast him.

Ken Holland certainly made waves on July 1st after a string of head-scratching signings with the Los Angeles Kings. The most notable move was handing defenseman Cody Ceci a four-year deal worth $4.5 million annually.

Holland also signed Corey Perry to a one-year contract with a $2 million cap hit, another player he had previously brought into Edmonton during his time as GM there.

Naturally, fans of the Oilers, Kings, and the league at large had a lot to say online, putting Holland on blast for his moves.

While Perry's contract didn't draw as much criticism as Ceci's, many fans expressed mixed emotions about his signing.

Some are okay to see him arrive, while others feel it was not a good idea to sign the 40-year-old winger and potential future Hall of Famer.

Perry was actually very solid for the Oilers in the playoffs

Perry was a valuable addition during his time in Edmonton, especially during the 2024-25 season, where he scored 19 goals in the regular season and 10 more in the postseason.

He brought a veteran presence, scoring touch, and was never afraid to stir things up physically.

As for Ceci, Oilers fans are all too familiar with how that story plays out. He struggled during Edmonton's playoff run and didn't fare much better for Dallas in the third round of the most recent playoffs.

Now, Kings fans get a taste of the Ken Holland Experience, watching him hand out inflated contracts to aging players and hoping that somehow, someway, it will all work out.
