With training camp just around the corner, we are previewing each player on the LA Kings roster. Up next: Jack Millar!
Birthdate: November 30, 2000
Birthplace: Westminster, Colorado
Height: 6’5
Weight: 220 lbs
Position: Defenseman
Shoots: Right
Draft: Undrafted
*NOTE: Since August 23rd, my Mom has picked the order of the training camp player previews for the Reign players because I couldn’t figure out what order to do them in. So, I asked for her assistance. Today, she chose Jack Millar!
Jack Millar wrapped up his second season with the Reign and played solidly. Millar, 25, played critical minutes on the penalty kill and was often deployed late in games when protecting a lead. Known as a defense-first defenseman, Millar displayed a willingness to block shots and good stick placement to break up plays. He isn’t a player who will put up a lot of points, but his strong defense kept him in the lineup daily when healthy. The second-year pro finished with nine points (2 G, 7 A) in 40 games, but missed 31 games with an injury.

Millar returns to the Reign after signing a two-year AHL contract with the club this summer. The Reign are expected to have more depth on the left side of the defense than on the right. We should expect Millar to be a staple on the back end, play a crucial role on the penalty kill, and be used often to protect leads in late-game scenarios.
2 more years of Millzy!!
We’ve signed defenseman Jack Millar to an AHL contract through the 2027-28 season!
