Josh Morrisey played just 2 minutes in Game 7 against the Blues, but now, it appears the Winnipeg Jets star blue liner is on the verge of a return.

The Winnipeg Jets fell in Game 1 of their second round matchup with the Dallas Stars, but ahead of Game 2, they're hoping for some good news on the teams best defenseman, Josh Morrissey.

The veteran managed to play in just 2 minutes of the Game 7 thriller against the St. Louis Blues, and he's yet to return, but now reporter John Lu has revealed that he has been labelled a game-time decision and been made not available to the media ahead of Game 2 on Friday night.

While that may not mean much on its own, it's also how the team handled Nikolaj Ehlers and Mark Scheifele ahead of their respective returns over the past week, indicating that Morrissey is likely to make his return in Game 2.

In the first round against St. Louis, Morrissey was not at his best, tallying just 3 assists and a -5 differential in the 6 full games and 2 minutes of Game 7 that he played, and with a much tougher opponent in the Stars ahead of them now, they need him at his very best.

With home ice advantage already taken from them after the 3-2 home loss in Game 1, the Jets cannot afford to go down 2-0 to the Stars, who themselves are likely to get healthier with the return of Miro Heiskanen looming, making this game a must-win.

We will know closer to game time if Morrissey can return and in what capacity, and for right now, Jets fans will be hoping he can tough it out, because if this team is to be a Stanley Cup threat, they'll need Morrissey on the ice.
