In the second game of a back-to-back, the Toronto Maple Leafs are making a number of adjustments to their lineup.

Head coach Craig Berube confirmed Nick Robertson, Ryan Reaves and Philippe Myers will play Sunday against the Buffalo Sabres. Fraser Minten, Pontus Holmberg and Conor Timmins are coming out of the lineup.

Robertson has been rendered a healthy scratch for the Maple Leafs’ past four games, last appearing on December 6 against the Washington Capitals. He has recorded two goals in 23 games and Sunday presents a real opportunity for the winger to re-ignite his offence. Reaves will also factor back on the fourth line as a direct replacement for Holmberg, and will likely be paired alongside Connor Dewar and Steven Lorentz.

Minten has made the most of his opportunity since being called up from the AHL’s Toronto Marlies and this is his first healthy scratch since making his season debut on November 20. The 20-year-old has recorded two goals and four points in 11 games. It’s likely that Robertson will be placed alongside Bobby McMann and Max Domi for Sunday’s contest.

Myers will replace Timmins directly and could be paired alongside Morgan Rielly, or could slot in alongside Simon Benoit. The 27-year-old has registered one assist in six games and has factored into the lineup more often after Toronto traded Timothy Liljegren to the San Jose Sharks on October 30.

Dennis Hildeby will start for the Maple Leafs. Hildeby was called up on an emergency basis after Anthony Stolarz suffered a lower-body injury during Thursday’s game against the Anaheim Ducks. Stolarz was placed on injured reserve retroactive to December 12 on Sunday and Berube indicated that another update will be provided on Stolarz’s status in the coming days.

Hildeby has started two games for the Maple Leafs this season, posting a 1-1-0 record with a .869 save percentage.
