Tonight, Brady Tkachuk made his return to Ottawa after being traded to the Florida Panthers, the Senators led. “During the third period, Linus Ullmark made a save, injured himself, and needed help getting to the bench. Ullmark had saved 16 of the 17 Florida shots he faced. Samuel Ersson came into the game to replace Ullmark.

Entering tonight’s game, Ullmark was a Vezina Trophy favorite with the start of the season he was having. He had made seven starts, going 6-1-0 with a 1.33 goals-against average and a .945 save percentage. Ullmark leads the league in save percentage; he’s second in goals-against average, and tied for the league lead in wins.

The Senators are off to a surprising start this season, entering tonight’s game with Florida at 6-3-0 with 12 points. They are third in the Atlanta Division, and the game is currently 5-1 with Ottawa leading. “If that score holds up, they’ll tie the Tampa Bay Lightning for second place in the division.”

Things will be tough for Ottawa if he is to miss time; of their six wins this season, four of them have been one-goal games, and Ullmark is a big reason behind those wins.
