American hockey superstar and Ottawa Senators captain Brady Tkachuk became an overnight sensation thanks to his fantastic performance throughout the 4 Nations Face-Off tournament playing for Team USA.
Although Brady has only been able to share the ice with his brother Matthew in international competitions, that might change if the Florida Panthers trade for him in the near future.
NHL insider Andy Strickland’s comments on Thursday's episode of "The Cam & Strick Podcast," where he suggested that Brady Tkachuk’s departure from Ottawa is inevitable sparked a wave of reactions and a heated debate on X.
Many Senators fans dismissed the speculation, while others entertained the possibility of a future Tkachuk brothers reunion in Florida or St. Louis, where they were raised.

One user, @SensCentral, was quick to shut down the idea of a trade, writing, “You think Ottawa is A) going to trade Brady and B) within the division? Okay.”
Another unofficial Senators' fan account, @unsensrd, accused Strickland of fabricating rumors, calling it “another slow day in the office.”
Some took issue with the idea that Florida could maneuver a trade, such as @OttSensNetwork, who argued, “Any trade package would cripple any contender to the point that they wouldn’t be a contender anymore.”
Meanwhile, @SebastienLortie speculated about Ottawa’s potential demands, saying, “I have to think Ottawa would be asking for (Sam) Reinhart or (Aleksander) Barkov.”
This is tampering.

On the other side of the debate, some users suggested that Brady’s eventual move to Florida is not unrealistic, just not imminent.
User @ShaeOlay pointed out, “If you don’t think that Matt isn’t in his ear about how awesome playing in Florida is, you’re out of your mind. He’s playing out his contract in Ottawa and signing there as a free agent. Really not that hard to see.”
Another account, @SmileAllthetim4, echoed that sentiment, writing, “I agree the Tkachuk family will make it happen eventually.”
I think they end up playing together at some point but O think Brady would also like to do it on his own and not play in his brother's shadow.

I say they both get moved to St. Louis in like 5 years.
Others suggested that the brothers might not reunite in Florida at all, instead signing with the St. Louis Blues once both become free agents in a few years.
User @AFY1975 predicted, “I think they end up playing together at some point but I think Brady would also like to do it on his own and not play in his brother’s shadow. I say they both get moved to St. Louis in like 5 years.”
Meanwhile, @TopShelfy dismissed the Florida angle entirely, writing, “FLA window is closed in 3yrs. There is not much chance Brady goes there. However, Matthew to Sens on the other hand!”
For now, Brady remains in Ottawa where he's scored 21 goals and 44 points in 56 games this season carrying a cap hit of $8.2 million per season through 2028.
Matthew has racked up 57 points in 52 games for the Panthers while on the third season of an eight-year, $76 million contract.
The brothers combined for six points, three apiece, in the 4 Nations Face-Off where they lost to Canada, 3-2 in overtime, in the championship game.
