Edmonton Oilers forward Evander Kane has posted to social media that he skated for the first time since leaving last year's Stanley Cup Final with injury, and has launched a new side hustle.

Kane recently underwent surgery to correct a knee injury that put a delay on his recovery from previous abdominal surgery, but it looks like he's still trying to get back on the ice as fast as possible.

Evander Kane skates in Edmonton for the first time this season

Kane posted to social media a picture of himself taking the ice in Edmonton for the first time this season. It's surely an encouraging sign that he's beginning on-ice activities.

When Kane underwent knee surgery he had to pause all rehabilitation for his abdominal surgery, which has an indefinite recovery time.

If Kane didn't begin on-ice activities to get up to speed now, he'd have no chance of getting back to play in the regular season. Now, it appears that Kane could possibly ramping up to make his return as soon as possible.

Earlier this season, Kane also introduced his new line of wine and a fashion line as well.

For Oilers fans, the big news will be Kane getting back on skates and hitting the ice for the first time this year. Whenever he returns to the lineup, his scoring and physicality will add another dimension to the team's forward group.
