Oilers Send Message to Charles Barkley After Leon Draisaitl's Game-Winner

Game 4 of the 2025 NHL Stanley Cup Final had it all. It showcased tremendous offense from both sides, incredible saves from the goalies and a 14-time Grammy winner following the action inside the arena.

But when it was all said and done on the ice, Leon Draisaitl and the Edmonton Oilers came out on top with a 5-4 victory via overtime to level the series against the Florida Panthers at 2-2.

Shortly after Draisaitl buried the game-winning goal, the Oilers sent a message to NBA legend Charles Barkley via X.

"Chuck, we did it again #LetsGoOilers," read the post, which included a video of the former NBA Most Valuable Player celebrating the Oilers' series-clinching win against the Vegas Golden Knights in the second round of the 2025 Stanley Cup playoffs.

Interestingly enough, Draisaitl also scored the game-winner of that contest in overtime.

Barkley has always been a fan of the NHL, and even once said that the NHL postseason is better than the NBA’s. He might be an even bigger supporter of hockey now after the incredible game that the Oilers and the Panthers just played.

Many had already dismissed the Oilers' chances of winning not just Game 4 but the series after Florida scored three unanswered goals in the first period.

But after making a goalie switch from Stuart Skinner to Calvin Pickard, Edmonton showed life in the second frame, where the Oilers potted in three goals while holding the Panthers scoreless.

Jake Walman put the Oilers ahead when he found the back of the net with just over seven minutes left in the third frame before the Panthers forced overtime with Sam Reinhart lighting the lamp with only seconds remaining in regulation.

Fortunately for the Oilers, Draisaitl came up in the clutch for them anew, as he scored his second overtime goal in the series to stun Florida and even the series.
