All 32 AHL teams revealed their 2024-25 schedule, which means we know who the Ontario Reign will play this upcoming season (For full schedule click HERE).

The 2024-25 season will be the AHL’s 89th season of operation and the Ontario Reign’s 10th year in the AHL since the franchise swap between them and the Manchester Monarchs. The swap saw the Monarchs (AHL) become the new ECHL affiliate (The Monarchs ceased operations after the 2018-19 season) and the Reign (ECHL) become the AHL affiliate for the LA Kings. The relocation allowed the Kings and other West Coast teams to be closer to their AHL affiliates and prospects. Not only will this be the Reign’s 10th season of operation in the AHL, but their 17th season of existence overall if you combine their time in the ECHL and AHL together.

The Reign will play a 72-game season for the third consecutive year, with 36 games at home and 36 on the road. They will start their 10th AHL season with a two-game series at home against the San Jose Barracuda. It will be the fourth straight season the Reign will open the year at Toyota Arena since the shortened COVID season. However, there is one slight change in the opponents. The Reign played the other nine Pacific Division opponents eight times each for the past two seasons. That won’t happen this year.

If you were tired of seeing the same opponents throughout the year, you’re going to like this news. For the first time since the 2021-22 season, the Reign will play against a team from the Central Division. They will play two teams from that division. The two teams the Reign will play from that division are the Iowa Wild and Texas Stars. The Reign will play the Stars for the first time since the 2018-19 season and the first time they face the Wild since the 2019-20 season.

Here is how many times the Reign will face each opponent this season:

  • Abbotsford Canucks: Four
  • Bakersfield Condors: Four
  • Calgary Wranglers: Eight
  • Coachella Valley Firebirds: Eight
  • Colorado Eagles: Eight
  • Henderson Silver Knights: Eight
  • Iowa Wild: Four

  • Texas Stars: Four
  • Tucson Roadrunners: Eight
