The Florida Panthers were able to pick up a big win in Game 3 of their second-round playoff series against the Toronto Maple Leafs. The Panthers used a strong attack to outmatch Toronto in overtime, sending the fans home happy.
For a minute to start, it looked as if the Maple Leafs were going to pull away before the poise of the Panthers took over. Florida was able to neutralize the hot start from Toronto and send a punch back at them.
However, while the Panthers did get the win, there are still some concerns about starting goalie Sergei Bobrovsky. Bobrovsky had been lights out in the first round against the Tampa Bay Lightning, allowing just 11 goals over a five-game series.
But against the Maple Leafs, the veteran had allowed nine goals in the first two games. Toronto scored four more in Game 3, adding to the already strong concern.
However, the star goalie didn't seem overly concerned and defended his struggles against Toronto.
"It is what it is," Bobrovsky said. "You control what you can control. Sometimes they happen like that, sometimes they happen your way, too."
Florida was able to ride Bobrovsky in the overtime frame, but going forward, there is a little worry about his play. The Maple Leafs have figured something out, and it will be up to the veteran to counter whatever that is.
"It's a huge game for us, obviously," Bobrovsky said. "You're just trying to stay with the moment."
Game 4 will take place on Sunday, May 11 at 7:30 p.m. ET, as the Panthers look to even up this series.
