The Pittsburgh Penguins hosted the New York Islanders on Tuesday night, looking to add to their win streak and make it five straight.
They wasted no time getting on the board, as center Joona Koppanen netted his first career goal just 4:40 into the first period. Then, with only 15 seconds left before the intermission, Penguins star Sidney Crosby doubled the lead, sending Pittsburgh into the break up 2-0.
Crosby entered the night with 1,669 career points, and with that goal, he passed NHL legend Wayne Gretzky for the fourth-most points with a single franchise in league history (1,670 points).
Shortly after, the Penguins posted a three-word message to celebrate yet another milestone in his illustrious 20-year NHL career.
"The legend continues ," they wrote.

Unfortunately for Pittsburgh, it surrendered four third-period goals and went on to lose 4-2.
Regardless, Crosby has already cemented himself as one of the greatest hockey players the game has ever seen. Since being selected first overall by the Penguins in the 2005 NHL Draft, he's made 10 All-Star appearances, won two Art Ross Trophies, two Hart Memorial Trophies, three Ted Lindsay Awards, two Rocket Richard Trophies, three Stanley Cups, two Conn Smythe Trophies, and more.
Even at 37 years old, he continues to show he still has it. This season, he's recorded 24 goals and 50 assists, totaling 74 points.
