Philadelphia Flyers Recall Three Players

As expected, the Philadelphia Flyers have multiple recalls ahead of tonight’s contest against the Colorado Avalanche. According to a team announcement, the Flyers recalled forwards Alex Bump and Cole Knuble from the AHL’s Lehigh Valley Phantoms.

That’s not the only move Philadelphia made. According to Jordan Hall of NBC Sports, the NHL media website lists forward Jacob Gaucher on the Flyers’ roster, indicating that a formal recall will happen closer to puck drop. Philadelphia will likely move Owen Tippett, who recently suffered an upper-body injury, to the injured reserve.

Bump, 22, was recently reassigned on October 7th after the Flyers signed Michael Bunting. He began the season on Philadelphia’s opening-night roster, going scoreless in three games while averaging 12:08 of ice time in a bottom-six role. Still, he’s been red-hot since his demotion, scoring seven goals in five games for AHL Lehigh Valley.

He is a well-known prospect at this point. Bump has shown quality production in the NCAA and AHL, and even scored nine points in 17 games for the Flyers last season. Unfortunately, he has yet to earn an extended opportunity in Philadelphia’s top six. However, if Tyson Foerster, who is listed as a game-time decision tonight, doesn’t play, Bump could get that opportunity.

Meanwhile, Knuble will likely make his NHL debut tonight. The Flyers are already familiar with the Knuble family, as Cole’s father, Mike Knuble, scored 118 goals and 229 points in 338 games for Philadelphia in the late 2000s and early 2010s. The younger Knuble is a recent fourth-round pick of the Flyers and has scored one goal and four points in six AHL games this season.

Lastly, Philadelphia has another forward option in Gaucher. Like Bump, Gaucher has begun the 2026-27 season on a tear in the AHL, scoring four goals and eight points in six games with a -3 rating. Gaucher debuted with the Flyers in February of the 2024-25 campaign and has gone scoreless in eight games in his young career.
