Roope Hintz and the Dallas Stars are down late against the Edmonton Oilers, and in attempting a comeback, the veteran forward has left the game with injury.
The Dallas Stars are trailing the Edmonton Oilers late in Game 2 of their Western Conference series, but unfortunately, things may be getting worse for the home team in this one.
With the Stars attempting a comeback, Darnell Nurse slashed Roope Hintz right on his left leg, and as a result, the veteran forward left the game with an injury, with fears over his status moving forward in the series.
As a result on the play, a two-minute penalty was given to Nurse, although there were major complaints on social media that the veteran forward took a dive to get the penalty.
That may have been the case if he didn't leave the game after the incident, but now, the Stars will be sweating on his availability moving forward, as they will desperately need Hintz if they are to come back in this series.
With more looks at the play however, it's very clear that the play from Nurse wasn't anywhere near warranting a minor penalty, as he barely hit Hintz, only for the veteran to go down in suspicious circumstances to give his team a chance at the comeback.
However, the veteran didn't look good coming off the ice, as he struggled to put any weight on his left foot as he departed, and this will be something to monitor as the series shifts back to Edmonton for Game's 3 and 4.
Whether or not it was a penalty worthy play from Nurse, there is concern for Hintz moving forward in this series, so keep a close eye on it moving forward as the Stars and Oilers look set to be locked at 1-1 ahead of Game 3.
