JJ Peterka is on Boston’s radar, but according to Elliotte Friedman, Buffalo’s not taking calls.
This one might not get off the ground.
There’s been buzz lately that the Boston Bruins are interested in JJ Peterka. Not a huge shock. He’s young, fast, and can score. He put up 68 points in 77 games this year and looks like he’s just getting started.
Boston could really use someone like him. But Buffalo? They’re not selling.
Sabres are not giving any indication they’re trading JJ Peterka
That’s what Elliotte Friedman said. Straight up. No gray area.

Peterka makes too much sense for Boston.
He’s exactly the type of player they don’t have enough of. But it doesn’t matter how good the fit is if the other side won’t pick up the phone.
Buffalo sees him as a core guy. Not someone you move unless things go south. And so far, there’s no sign that’s happening.
Sure, there’s been some talk that Peterka isn’t thrilled. But it’s been quiet. No request. No drama.
So what’s left? Just rumors.
Even if Buffalo changed its mind, what could Boston offer? Not much without gutting the future. And that’s risky.
The price would be high. Peterka’s young, cheap, and producing. You don’t trade that unless you’re desperate. Buffalo’s not.
And again—Friedman was pretty clear.

That line’s been repeated everywhere. It hasn’t changed.
So as of now, this is a dead end.
