The Utah Mammoth narrowly avoided a loss and are now 7-3 through 10 games.
Backup goalie and former first-round pick, Sebastian Cossa, has struggled. However, Cossa's late stop on Sidney Crosby showed just how good he can be.
The Mammoth offense was able to carry the night, as both the goalies and the defense didn't perform very well.
After the Pittsburgh Penguins went up 1-0, the Mammoth scored twice to make it 2-1 before the Penguins tied it at two. The Mammoth scored three more times to nearly put Pittsburgh away in the third period, leading 5-2.
The Penguins didn't die, though, as they crawled back into the game with a goal. Then, later in the third period, the Penguins scored again to cut the lead to 5-4.
The Mammoth offense failed to convert any opportunities to regain a larger lead, giving Pittsburgh a solid chance to tie late in the game. Captain Sidney Crosby got a golden opportunity with just seconds left, but was denied by a Cossa.

Sebastian Cossa makes a HUGGGGEEEE save in the final seconds to secure the @utahmammoth win! pic.twitter.com/yZWyGXdVxu
The Mammoth won because of the offense, but Cossa's save was huge. Over three starts, he has allowed eight goals, including being pulled in the first period of his second start. His career in Utah hasn't gotten off to a nice start, but this save gives him a chance to turn things around.
Overall, the Mammoth would love to get more from its goalies after 10 games. The Mammoth are 7-3-0 and lead the division, so the start to the season has been awesome. But they will need better performances from their goalies, and Cossa showed they can do that.
