Michael Andlauer, owner of the Ottawa Senators, revealed today that he has plans to bring the NHL back to Quebec City.

Quebec City has been a hot topic of debate among hockey fans and league executives alike for many years now.

Ever since the Nordiques left the city to move to Colorado, fans have been asking for a new team.

Those wishes have only gotten stronger as the league has entered a new expansion era with the additions of the Vegas Knights and Seattle Kraken.

Unfortunately, though, Gary Bettman and the rest of the NHL's front office seemingly remain against bringing a team back to Quebec City.

However, Ottawa Senators owner Michael Andlauer just gave fans in the city a bit of good news as he confirmed his team will be playing two games there next season.

One game will be against the New Jersey Devils and the other will come against the Montreal Canadiens.

While these games are part of the preseason, Andlauer went on to suggest that he would like to host real regular-season games there in the future as well.

'If we can play in Sweden, we can play in Quebec. We'll start with the two preseason games and we'll go from there. For me, that's the vision. It's to make our mark in Quebec and in a francophone market.'

The NHL has hosted preseason games in the city in the past, but there has not been a regular-season game there since the 90s.

Hopefully, this is the beginning of a new relationship between the league and the city, one where fans can enjoy regular opportunities to watch NHL games live in person, even if it is only a couple of times each year.
