Tynan Lawrence, whom the Blues drafted 11th overall in this past draft, had a big weekend for the Boston University Terriers as they swept the Maine Black Bears.
On Friday night, the Terriers beat the Black Bears 7-2, and on that night Lawrence scored a goal. On Saturday, he had a big night. The Terriers were trailing 2-0 in the third, Lawrence got on them on the board scoring a power-play goal just before seven minutes in. Later in the third, with 2:12 left, Lawrence tied the game at 2-2. Boston University would win the game 3-2.
Lawrence in eight games this season has ten points on seven goals and three assists. He’s a plus-four with two power-play goals and a game-winning goal.
Last season, in 18 games for the Terriers, he had seven points on two goals and five assists; he was a minus-one. He also appeared in 13 games for Muskegon Lumberjacks in the USHL, where he was a captain. Lawrence had 17 points on ten goals and seven assists; he was a plus-five.
Lawrence is a solid two-way forward and will certainly be a name to watch in the Selke conversation when he goes pro, but this was a big weekend for his Boston University team.
