The St. Louis Blues following last night’s 2-1 loss to the Dallas Stars, made their first round of preseason roster cuts. Eight players were cut from the roster with six heading to their AHL affiliate the Springfield Thunderbirds and two being assigned to their respective junior teams.

The six heading to Springfield are forward Juraj Pekarcik, Simon Robertsson, and Jakub Stancl, defenseman Michael Buchinger, and Lukas Fischer, along with goalie Parker Gahagen.
The two heading to juniors are forward Maddox Dagenais who is heading to the QMJHL to play with Quebec. The other is goalie Vladimir Proskirin who is heading to Victoria in the OHL.
Dagenais played in last night’s game recording 14:23 TOI with three shots and a hit. Pekarcik, Stancl, and Fischer also played last night. Pekarcik had 11:21 TOI with a shot and was a minus-one. Stancl had 13:20 TOI with a shot and two hits. Fischer had 15:57 TOI with a shot and two hits.
The Blues face the Stars tomorrow night in their second preseason game at 8:00 PM EST. The Blues’ AHL affiliate in Springfield has a preseason game on Friday and Saturday against the Providence Bruins. Friday’s game will be in Springfield and Saturdays in Providence. Both games are set for 7:05 PM EST.
