Elias Pettersson's future in Vancouver has been a major talking point in recent times, and now, it's been revealed whether he'll stay or go this summer.

This past season was a rollercoaster for Elias Pettersson in Vancouver, as he had to deal with the public attention on his feud with J.T. Miller before the veteran was ultimately dealt to New York to split the pair up.

During all of this, Pettersson simply wasn't performing, and as a result, there was plenty of backlash from the media and fans in Vancouver, to the point where many also considered him a trade candidate coming into the off-season.

However, all signs are now pointing to EP40 remaining in Vancouver, as Pierre LeBrun has now indicated it's likely that he stays moving forward, despite speculation that he could be moved early this off-season before his no-trade clause kicks in.

While some fans may have been frustrated at his play this last season, at his best, Pettersson remains a 100-point player in the NHL, so selling low on him isn't exactly the best strategy, especially if he gets some good line mates and bounces back in 2025/26.

Between 2022 and 2024, Pettersson tallied a fantastic 191 points, but in 2024/25, he managed just 45 on a team that struggled to live up to expectations, but with the Canucks still looking to build around he and Quinn Hughes, keeping him is likely the best option for them.

If the struggles continue however, they'll be stuck with one of the biggest contracts in the entire NHL for a player that has struggled mentally and physically in recent times, so whether he's moved or not this summer, this is definitely still a story to keep an eye on in the years to come.
