Sunday thoughts about... ACME

Yeah, it feels like that sometimes. It feels like your brain can't function properly and you're tired of talking about content-creation topics. Can the 2026-27 season start already? Because I'm tired of making too many predictions. I'm patiently waiting for September 29 to start so we can report injuries and trades.

So, I did what every rational human who doesn't want to feel burnt out do what I should do. I took my mind off of it by seeing a movie. I saw Coyote Vs. ACME at the Town Square AMC. I needed something to free me from constantly writing about hockey and focus my energies on recharging.

Let me say that it was worth it. Getting my mind to focus on something else helped me relax. Not only that, but the movie was genuinely good. There's some connection between feeling stuck in life and having someone light a fire under you to improve.

What I learned from taking a break from writing about the Vegas Golden Knights and from watching Coyote Vs. ACME

I'm not going to delve too much into the storyline since I don't want to give away spoilers. But I'm going to tell you that there are a TON of Warner Bros. easter eggs and references throughout the movie. Obviously, you got your Bugs Bunny appearance and your Looney Tunes theme song playing. But the movie's more than that.

It features a lazy lawyer who tries to take the easy way out. The guy settles on nearly every case before Wile E. Coyote goads him into digging into the case further regarding ACME Corporation. What happens when you deal with a product liability case when you've been burned for so many decades?

Why, you do what every American does: Sue the b*stards! You feel as if you've been wronged and you need someone to represent you (or try for easy money, at least). But the story is that the lawyer doesn't try hard enough in life and he should. After all, his client needs help and is heavily relying on his help in winning his case (at least, that what it looks like).

But what about the Golden Knights, you ask? Well, there's a common joke that the Golden Knights take the regular season off up until March. They have the players who turn it up during the hotter months, making them the perfect analogy for Las Vegas weather. Go cold during the winter months (sort of) and heat up when the temperatures do.

Perhaps it's time for the Golden Knights to get their own Wile E. Coyote. They've been the punchline of such a joke, specifically in January. Maybe that comes with catching that darn Road Runner as well.
