It was an impressive victory for the Boston Bruins, who defeated the Buffalo Sabres 2-1 in overtime Tuesday night and cut the deficit in their first-round series to 3-2.

David Pastrnak scored the OT winner, but it was Jeremy Swayman in the Bruins’ crease who stole the show, stopping 25 of 26 shots to get the win, which comes just days after Swayman was pulled early in Game 4 and screamed at the Boston bench in frustration.

On Wednesday’s episode of Daily Faceoff LIVE, Tyler Yaremchuk and former NHL goaltender Carter Hutton discuss the Bruins’ Game 5 victory and how Swayman performed with his team’s season on the line.

Tyler Yaremchuk: It was a great game from Jeremy Swayman, who put his money where his mouth is after calling out his teammates. He stops 25 of 26 shots last night and David Pastrnak delivers in overtime. What did you make of the Bruins effort?

Carter Hutton: For Jeremy Swayman, you had to have this kind of performance, right? It’s obvious that your backs are against the wall, but you walked down the bench and you’re going to give it to all your teammates. He’s earned the right to do that, because he’s played so well and that was a poor effort from Boston in Game 4.

For Swayman, he was a big time difference maker in this game. There was a calming factor that he brought to it. There’s a lot of pressure and it’s really hard to put the nail in the coffin when you’re trying to knock off a team with experienced players.
