
The Tampa Bay Lightning are acquiring forward Corey Perry from the Los Angeles Kings. Perry has a no-trade clause, and he has reportedly done that. The trade is interesting after reports came out yesterday that Perry wanted an extension with the Kings, but now he is returning to the Lightning, where he played from 2021 to 2023. The Lightning is sending a second-round draft pick to the Kings. In 50 games this season, he has 28 points on 11 goals and 17 assists. He’s a minus-one with four power-play goals.

The Anaheim Ducks drafted Perry 28th overall in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft. He appeared in 988 games for the Ducks, recording 776 points on 372 goals and 404 assists. He was a +76 with 103 power-play goals, six shorthanded goals, and 64 game-winning goals. Perry then joined the Dallas Stars, where in 57 games he had 21 points on five goals and 16 assists. He was a minus-two with a power-play goal. Perry joined the Canadiens in 2020-21, where in 49 games he had 21 points on nine goals and 12 assists. He was a minus-four with a power-play goal and a game-winning goal. Perry then spent those two seasons with Tampa Bay, appearing in 163 games, recording 65 points on 31 goals and 34 assists.
