The Vancouver Canucks and Edmonton Oilers swapped forward prospects. The Canucks are acquiring forward Jayden Grubbe from the Oilers, with forward Josh Bloom heading to Edmonton. Bloom will report to the Fort Wayne Komets of the ECHL. Grubbe has appeared in 28 games in the ECHL with the Komets this season. He has 19 points on seven goals and 12 assists. He’s a plus-four with three power-play goals. Bloom in 19 games for Abbotsford has a goal and is a -12. He’s appeared in 19 games in the ECHL as well with the Kalamazoo Wings. He had 28 points on 15 goals and 13 assists. He’s a minus-six with three power-play goals.

Jayden Grubbe

The New York Rangers drafted Grubbe 65th overall in the 2021 NHL Entry Draft. He’s appeared in 129 AHL games, all with Bakersfield. He has 28 points on ten goals and 18 assists. He’s a -17 with two game-winning goals. In two Calder Cup Playoff games, he’s pointless.

Josh Bloom

The Buffalo Sabres drafted Bloom 95th overall in the 2021 NHL Entry Draft. In 35 career AHL games, all with Abbotsford, he has a goal, two assists, and he’s a -17. In 70 career ECHL games, he has 69 points on 35 goals and 34 assists. He’s a minus-four with five power-play goals and two shorthanded goals.
