The Oilers got out to a quick lead in the first period, with goals from Jason Dickinson and Kapanen to make it 2-0. However, the Ducks scored three unanswered in the second period, with Troy Terry scoring two and assisting on the other.
The Oilers didn’t give up. Dickinson scored his second goal of the game with 8:30 left to tie it at 3-3. Then, Kapanen was at the right place at the right time to bury his second goal, helping the Oilers go on to win 4-3.
Edmonton now holds a 1-0 series lead. Game 2 will be played on Wednesday, April 22, at 10 p.m. ET.
