For the second straight year, Jets' Adam Lowry has made it into the top 10 of Selke Trophy voting, but once again did not receive a single top vote or win.

For the second consecutive season, Winnipeg Jets center Adam Lowry placed in the top 10 for the Selke Trophy, awarded to the NHL's best defensive forward.

Lowry finished 10th in this year's voting with 115 points, far behind champion Florida Panthers center Aleksander Barkov, who captured the award for the second year in a row and third time in three years.

Interestingly, this is the first time in Lowry's playing career that he appeared on first-place ballots, with three votes for number one, also being included on four second and third-place ballots. Nine voters listed him fourth, and 10 placed him fifth.

Lowry finished seventh in the previous season with no first-place votes. Members of the Professional Hockey Writers Association cast votes for the Selke Trophy. NHL insider Murat Ates disagrees with the standings, placing Lowry all the way at third.

First-place votes are worth 10 points, seven for second, five for third, three for fourth, and one for fifth. Barkov polled the most of any candidate with 96 first-place votes and totaled 1,363 points.

Lowry had a career-best plus/minus season with the Jets

Lowry registered a career-best plus-18 rating this season, holding down a checking line that was tasked with shutting down visiting stars. He also registered a personal best 16 goals and added 18 assists in his 11th NHL season, all with Winnipeg.

In the playoffs, the 32-year-old scored four goals and posted a plus-2 mark in 13 games. Following the postseason, Lowry underwent hip surgery and should miss the start of next season.
