Winnipeg Jets Make More Training Camp Moves

The Winnipeg Jets have announced three additional rounds of training camp roster reductions, as their American Hockey League affiliate, the Manitoba Moose, has begun its training camp.

Sunday’s group of cuts included goaltender Isaac Poulter, defenseman Dylan Anhorn, and Forwards Jacob Julien and Fabian Wagner. Anhorn was released from his professional tryout contract with the Winnipeg Jets.

Monday’s group included forward Danny Zhilkin, who was loaned to the Moose, while forwards Phillip Di Giuseppe and Mason Shaw were placed on waivers and cleared the next day.

The Jets followed it up by placing defensemen Isaak Phillips and Tyrel Bauer on waivers yesterday with the intention to reassign them to the Moose. Both players cleared waivers and were reassigned to the Moose. Goaltender Thomas Milic, forwards Colby Barlow and Brayden Yager, and defenseman Elias Salomonsson were also a part of this batch of reassignments.

Once Bauer and Phillips cleared, the Jets made more roster moves, placing forwards Jaret Anderson-Dolan and Samuel Fagemo alongside defenseman Kale Clague on waivers to reassign them to the Manitoba Moose.

With the NHL roster deadline looming, this week is a massive week for the waiver wire, and the Jets need to trim their roster by four forwards and one goaltender to reach the 23-man roster limit.

Tough decisions are put on the shelf with Dylan Samberg being out of action for 6-8 weeks with a broken wrist and Adam Lowry not returning to game action until early November.

With two extra slots for the time being and looking at the names still on the Jets’ roster, could Nikita Chibrikov and/or Brad Lambert earn themselves an early-season NHL showing?
