The Winnipeg Jets have officially re-signed centerman Morgan Barron to a two-year contract, which was first reported by NHL insider Elliotte Friedman.

Another one of the Jets ' RFAs can be checked off the list as Winnipeg and centerman Morgan Barron have agreed to a new contract.

The Halifax native was signed to a two-year deal with an AAV of $1.85 million as per NHL insider Elliotte Friedman.

The two sides were set to head to arbitration without a new deal locked in

Getting it done now was very important as it allows the two sides to avoid arbitration, which removes an unnecessary distraction.

This is the third time he's signed a contract with the Jets, as he's coming off a two-year contract with a $1.3 million cap hit, so this new deal is a slight raise for the key forward.

The 6'4 forward played some games at centre this season, which gave Winnipeg another option at that important position, as they at times appeared to lack depth there.

This, along with other additions, will hopefully solidify the position for next season.

Morgan Barron registered eight goals, 15 points, 92 shots on net, and 122 hits across 74 regular-season appearances with the Jets during the 2024-25 season. He will most definitely occupy a bottom-six role with the team next season.
