While he was possibly about to be recalled by the Montreal Canadiens, according to some sources, the Quebec forward has just suffered a nasty injury.
Let's sincerely hope it's not too serious, but everything now points to the fact that he won't be recalled by the Habs tomorrow to replace Emil Heineman.
See the footage.. What bad luck!
The Rocket has just lost Joshua Roy, who fell heavily near the bottom of the boards by the opponent's net. His left shoulder took the full impact. Hopefully, it's nothing too serious. The Rocket has confirmed that he will not return to the game.- Anthony Marcotte
And the official statement from the Laval Rocket:
We will probably never know if Roy was actually going to be recalled by the Canadiens tomorrow morning, but if that was the case, it's truly unfortunate, and it's an injury that literally comes at the worst possible time.
It doesn't seem encouraging at the moment, but let's wait and see.
Let's continue hoping it's not too serious for Josh.
Roy, 21 years old, is a 6-foot, 192-pound forward who was drafted 150th overall in 2021 (5th round) by the Montreal Canadiens.
He has 27 points in 32 games this season in the AHL, and he is the Rocket's leading scorer (also the top goal scorer, by the way, with 14 goals).
Details will follow, this is an ongoing story
