PHILADELPHIA – That’s playoff hockey baby!
Cam York scored the overtime winner with 2:28 left in overtime to send the Flyers to the second round. A matchup with the Carolina Hurricanes now awaits.
Where do you start?
Game 6 was a mix of emotions, edge of your seat anticipation, and just pure hockey. Something that only comes this time of year.
Dan Vladar was the star of the show. His second shutout of the series was the backbone to the 1-0 overtime win.
He finished the night with 42 saves, ten of which came in overtime.
It was a battle of the goaltenders as Arturs Silovs was just as good on the other end. The lone goal coming on the 74th shot on goal of the night.
York’s first career playoff goal was setup by the patience of Matvei Michkov.
After Porter Martone almost won it, the only thing a tired group of Penguins could do was ice the puck. On the faceoff, Noah Cates won the draw to Michkov.
Michkov then out waited Benjamin Kindel at the point before sliding the puck to York. His point shot beat a screened Silovs, by Cates, high over his shoulder.
What a game. But, what an even better series. The Battle of Pennsylvania never disappoints.
The Flyers will now be off for a few days before heading to Carolina for Game 1 of the Eastern Conference semifinals. Date and time to be determined.
