Looking Back and Moving Forward: #24 Eric Nystrom

A true fourth line type of winger. Nystrom followed up a slightly unexpected but productive first season in Nashville with an average one that ended too soon. He suffered a lower-body injury in early March that held him out of the lineup for the remainder of the year.   Nystrom chipped in offensively this season with seven goals. While there wasn’t an incredible four goal game like...

Eric Nystrom is bringing gritty back

Eric Nystrom will never win the Rocket Richard Trophy. Despite that, in 2012-13, Nystrom had one of his best seasons as an NHL player, racking up 11 points (7G – 4A) in 48 games with the Dallas Stars. During the lockout, he also briefly played in Norway with the Stavanger Oilers, scoring a mere 7 points in the first game of his six game stint with the team. In 408 NHL games, the...

Nystrom signs with Nashville, marks fifth free agent signing of the day

Nashville added another piece to the puzzle as well, signing veteran Eric Nystrom to a 4 year, $10 million deal, marking the fifth player the Predators have picked up in the first day of free agency. Nystrom, 30, scored 11 points last season for the Dallas Stars and has 83 points in 408 career games in the NHL. Nystrom is another depth forward, but is great on the ice during the...

Stars' Nystrom seeing career resurgence

Chemistry doesn't normally happen immediately in hockey. To hear Eric Nystrom tell it, there might as well have been Bunsen burners involved. Nystrom was put on a line with veterans Vernon Fiddler and Radek Dvorak more than a month ago and the unlikely trio quickly found strangely familiar ground for the Dallas Stars. "Honestly, it was pretty easy right off the bat," Nystrom said...
