The Montreal Victoire have signed their top draft pick, defender Nicole Gosling, to a three-year contract, the team announced Friday.

Selected fourth overall in the 2025 PWHL Draft, Gosling signs with the Victoire following back-to-back seasons which saw her score 39 points in 40 games with the Clarkson University Golden Knights, becoming the university’s all-time highest-scoring blueliner.

In addition to her collegiate tenure, which ended with 44 goals and 148 points in 170 games over five seasons, Gosling has also played for Team Canada internationally, winning a gold medal at the 2024 IIHF Women’s World Championship, alongside cousin Julia Gosling, who plays for PWHL Seattle.

Gosling is also currently training with Team Canada, as one of the potential inclusions on the Milano-Cortina 2026 Olympic roster.

“I am thrilled to sign a three-year agreement with La Victoire. It’s an honour to be a member of this great organization and to learn from and compete with world-class staff and teammates,” said Gosling. “I am looking forward to living out my dream of playing pwrofessional hockey, and to do it for the best fans in the league and in such a historic hockey city is truly special.”

For the Victoire, Gosling becomes the first player signed from the 2025 draft class, and helps shore up the blueline after losing Cayla Bares, Anna Wilgren, and Mariah Keopple from the 2024-25 roster.

“We were already very excited to see Nicole in action this season, and that feeling has only grown since we got to spend time with her following the recent draft,” said Victoire general manager Danièle Sauvageau. “In addition to being very talented, she has great energy, which is sincere and contagious. Our fans are really going to enjoy her style of play.”

Gosling and the Victoire will open their 2025-26 season against the Boston Fleet on Nov. 23, before dropping the puck on their home schedule on Nov. 25 against the New York Sirens.
