Miami Hurricanes get good transfer portal news regarding RB Girard Pringle Jr.

The Miami Hurricanes were anticipating the loss of running back Girard Pringle Jr. this offseason via the transfer portal.

Pringle, who was a freshman from Tampa, Florida, this past season for Miami, entered his name into the transfer portal on Wednesday.

The rest of the college football world had until Jan. 16 to make that decision, but players whose teams played in the CFP title game were given five days to enter their transfer portal paperwork.

Just about a day later, the running back has apparently reversed course.

The Miami staff apparently worked hard to keep him, and there were reportedly some in Pringle's camp who didn't want him to leave Coral Gables anyhow.

The end result is that he's withdrawing his name and staying at Miami.

Girard Pringle Jr. could be a star RB in the making for Miami Hurricanes

Pringle checks in at 5-foot-10, 190 pounds and is a former 4-star recruit. According to the 247 Sports Composite rankings, he was the No. 7 running back in the 2025 class.

This past season for Miami, he carried the rock 62 times and tallied 375 yards and four touchdowns, averaging a great 6.0 yards per carry.

Against NC State in a 41-7 win, he rushed 17 times for 116 yards, which are his career highs so far.

As a senior at Armwood High School, Pringle rushed for 1,199 yards and 19 touchdowns, so he can be a big-time back.
