The last time the Texas Longhorns and LSU Tigers faced off on Jan. 11, it did not go Texas' way as the Longhorns suffered their first loss of the season.
Less than a month later, No. 4 Texas (22-2, 7-2 SEC) avenged that loss with a 77-64 win in Thursday night's top-five clash to extend its home winning streak to 39, which is tied with TCU for the longest active streak in the nation.
Although junior forward Madison Booker had a team-high 18 points (6-of-21 FG) and freshman guard Aaliyah Crump put up 16 points (7-of-10 FG) in 24 minutes off the bench, senior guard Rori Harmon left her mark in another way.
The senior, who came into the night only averaging the sixth-most points on the team (9.1 PPG), had 11 points (4-of-14 FG), five assists and six steals. The steals, though, helped her reach a milestone.
With her six steals on Thursday night, Harmon has 351 in her career, surpassing Linda Waggoner's previous mark of 346 from 1976-80 for the most in program history. She already owns the program's assists record with 894 and counting.

While Harmon is no stranger to finding the bottom of the net, either, after scoring a season-high 26 points in a top-five win over then-No. 3 UCLA on Nov. 26, her knack for getting steals has defined her collegiate career and has now put her on another level in the program's history.
Thursday marked the fifth time this season that Harmon has recorded at least five steals in a game, including a season-best eight in a win over Missouri on New Year's Day. There have only been two instances the entire season that Harmon has not had a steal, one of which was the loss to the Tigers.
Including the win over Texas, LSU (21-3, 7-3 SEC) had won seven straight before suffering its third setback of the season. The Longhorns struggled on the boards (44-35), committed 17 turnovers and trailed for much of that contest, completely different than how they performed in the rematch.
Although Texas was slightly outrebounded this time around, 40-36, it only committed 10 turnovers to LSU's 19 and was in control for a lot more of the game, taking advantage of huge second and fourth quarter spurts.
With only a pair of losses this season — the other one against then-No. 2 South Carolina on Jan. 15 — Texas currently sits fourth in the SEC standings, only behind the Gamecocks (23-2, 9-1 SEC), No. 19 Tennessee (15-5, 7-1 SEC) and No. 7 Vanderbilt (22-2, 8-2 SEC).
Booker might be the star of this Longhorns team when it comes to scoring, but if Harmon is at her best disrupting an opposing team's offense, Texas is a dangerous team that should not be counted out the rest of the way.
